Thumblite, a significant new drama series on Netflix that will explore the high-stakes world of Silicon Valley, has been secured.
The Hollywood Reporter claims that the streaming behemoth emerged victorious in a vigorous bidding procedure to win the series, which will get a straight-to-series order.
Creator of ‘Thumblite’, Scott Z Burns is also credited with creating ‘The Report’ and ‘Extrapolations’ for Apple TV+.
Media Res, the production company behind “The Morning Show” and “Pachinko,” is in charge of producing the show.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, renowned podcaster and marketing professor Scott Galloway will make his debut in scripted television as an executive producer.
Described as a “corporate thriller set in Silicon Valley,” the drama centers on the fierce power struggles, ambitions, and rivalries that exist amongst the executives of the computer industry and their teams.
Rosamund Pike is set to star in the series and also serve as an executive producer, while details regarding his character are still to come.
Pike, who is well-known for her parts in “The Wheel of Time” and “Saltburn,” lends her celebrity and expertise to this eagerly awaited endeavour.
The show is a part of a larger trend of media with a Silicon Valley theme. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Robert and Michelle King, who are well-known for their work on “Evil” and “The Good Fight,” are also producing a courtroom drama for CBS called “Cupertino.”
According to reports, Scott Z Burns would serve as “Thumblite’s” showrunner, utilising his wealth of writing and directing skills.
His noteworthy productions include episodes of Showtime’s “The Loudest Voice” and “Californication,” as well as the feature films “The Informant!,” “Contagion,” and “The Laundromat.”
Apart from Burns, Galloway, and Pike, the executive production team also consists of Media Res’s Lindsey Springer, Michael Ellenberg, and Greg Jacobs.
